New Year 2016 - Start in Barcelona

This year we decided to spend the first week of the year in the sun. Barcelona was the city we chose. 

We visited the amazing Casa Batlló, one of Gaudi's architectural highlights. 

This statue actually represents the face of a lady and a bird, however seen from the side you cannot recognize anything of it. 

 Barcelona has also beautiful beaches and despite the grey weather we enjoyed having lunch with this view on the empty beach.

Another highlight was Palau de la Música Catalana. Wonderful place, full of light and color and the fascinating effect of the beautifull glazings (Bleiverglasung). 

 We also entered into Sagrada Familia, which impressed me a lot. I did not expect such powerful light and color inside there.
